Local antique days. One load ready to head up town.20210828_071202.jpg.591021f4dc630237c852e880e65c4c90.jpg

All lined up and pretty. Even threw in a Lawn Boy for a splash of blue.

Can you guess which tractor got it's picture taken the most?

Had a great time visiting @19richie66 and Karen today.

Great seeing you all and meeting the rest of the family. Hopefully next time it won’t be so hot and  we can fire up the smoker too! If not, we’ll hit a good BBQ joint. It true….. you meet the best people with these little red things. Hope the rest of your journey goes well. Safe travels to you all.

I have often wondered just how important it is that the 2 motors turn exactly the same RPM.  Would it be more so on a shaft driven set up?

Almost need a freewheeling clutch on one or both engines. Dunno how on earth you'd tune them that close to one another. Is it just my poor eyesight or does the engine closest to the driver connect on the PTO clutch?

I guess if they run pretty darn close you might not have too much trouble. One would run with less of a load and the other would not. Seems like it would run the governors crazy...

i’ve seen before where the large multi engine pulling tractor owners have been asked how they synchronize the engines. The answer was that they do not because the individual engines just pull against whatever load is applied and they don’t care what the other engine is doing.  I always thought they would fight each other but apparently they don’t.

As a teen, I wrenched for a kart-racing friend. We ran dual McCullough 2-stokes on a single live axle (yeah, it could spin the rears if he was too heavy on the throttle in the corners). We never did more than "that sounds about right" to sync the engines using adjusting screws on the throttle linkages. There were other (better funded) teams that tried split axles (one engine per) with the idea that it would be better in the corners. They used a synchronizer in the throttle linkages. But for the extra trouble, I couldn't see any real advantage in their results. We won sometime and they won sometime!

I know it’s Tuesday but…

Tractor isn’t really squatting from the tongue weight as much as it appears, the rear tire is low on air making it appear to squat.

WHX??

Here's a pipe dream then Mike... a hydro with a front ball that you can lift right up into the hitch. For short moves like that never even have to get off the tractor. Drive up to the boat, lift her up drive out.... sweep the stall ...drive her back in...... Just thinkin out loud here.... work smart not hard! :)

Just wished I was as bright as my ideas tho!

My very own 1990’s commercial!😂 more loam spreading and because of the hills I’ll be using the 520 with dump cart too move the loam to the back of my property. I never realized just how tippy a loader like this can be on uneven ground! So twice the horsing around!

I bought this C-120 with a 36" RD deck solely to pull a 42" lawn sweeper. As usual with a new acquisition, I hid it from my wife until I could sell another red tractor. Then, out of the blue, inspiration hit: I presented it to her as 'her' tractor. It worked!  She had a blast driving it (and didn't ask me when I bought it). I think I might look for a C-160 to give her for Christmas!
