Well Sir it looks like the weather for the next 10 days has us above freezing... even at night.

I don't want to jinx us...

We might be ok.

I am an anal goofball about my lawn but here’s what I do. I aerate and over seed and fertilize in the fall. In March I put down fertilizer and crabgrass preventer, in April I spray for weeds, in May I put down fertilizer and crabgrass preventer, and in early June I spray again for weeds if it needs it.  I do it for several of my neighbors also and the money I make from them helps pay for my habit.

I do all that, or rather have it done, and then I get moles. :ranting:

I get moles to and I don’t have a good method for getting rid of them. If anybody does, I would love to hear it.I get moles to and I don’t have a good method for getting rid of them. If anybody does, I would love to hear it.

We used to have a black Lab. She would sniff them out, dig them up, an obliterate them. Sadly, Chaos is gone. :crying-yellow:

My lawn service does put down grub killer. It may do some good, I don't know.

Gassing them out with exhaust worked very well for me. Yard has been clear of them ever since.

There was a family of moles, Papa Mole, Mamma Mole and Baby Mole and they went on vacation. They traveled underground all in a row and Papa mole ran them into a pancake house and he stopped quick and they all collided. Papa Mole sticks his head out and sniffs, "Smells like pancakes cookin Mama!"  Mama sticks her head out and sniffs "Oh yes, and it smells like honey to me!"  Baby Mole sticks his head out "Well it smells like Mole-asses to me!" :occasion-xmas:

Okay I'll admit it. I'm a five year old and I found that amusing.

Ditto on the K9 solution..might end up qith a couple holes to fill, but i now have zero moles, zero possums, and zero skunks, deer and rabbits are permitted to wander...somehow the cats have an arrangement with the pack and survive to tend to any mice.

Sometimes  a few „la bomba“ in the hole will also do that Trick..

Look....

.... but if you exaggerate it, it was a mess to rework the Lawn after.. 😂😂

Two things that do work!

Molexit and Mole -Med.

I used Molexit last year.  Works great but you must cover every area of the lawn.  Any area not covered is subject to to a mole tunnel or EXIT!   My lawn had a mole that ran along concrete drive edge and wooden lawn edging .  But not in main lawn.

Molexit snd Mole-Med are using similar ingredients.  Ivory liquid soap and castor oil!   Mole-med is in pellets and when placed down a mole hole or tunnel , the mole eats it and blows up on the other end!

I worked with the developer of Mole-Med in the 1980’s to get his EPA - FIFRA (federal insecticide and rodenticide law). Which cost him $50,000 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor laboratories to ascertain potential poison impact to the environment.

Removing grubs from lawn with grubex also helps but these two mole treatments add extra preventative measures.
