It is a very thrifty machine to use…I just forget it has a small fuel tank compared to a few of my other machines and forget to check. And it’s not super loud 2

JCM 9,776 #2856 Posted January 11 Winter trail ride. Right now there is ZERO snow, which is okay. This was back some years. The 1986 417-8 goes nice on the trails once it packs down without having to chain up. Kwik-Way weight box is nice to have. 10

Already having a 417-A, 418-C, 418-8, and 420-LSE I just need Jim’s 417-8 and his 418-A to complete my collection of that era 400 series!! Just realized Eric wants the weight box! He can have that, I just want the tractor. Edited January 11 by c-series don 2

One of the reason I didn't keep the K-W set up. It didn't really like to dig into a pile and then backing up the hitch would dig in. It was more like a power wheelbarrow. Fine for firewood, not for anything with much weight in the bucket. Steering was terrible, manageable with the 520-H with gear reduction and forward swept. Huge difference.

JCM 9,776 #2874 Posted January 19 I worked with a tile setter who was from Frederick, MD. We remodeled a lot of bathrooms together back in the early 90's. He grew up on a Dairy farm. @Sodaking27
