Sparky-(Admin) 21,314 #2803 Posted September 7 857 doing a little work hauling dirt and wood chips from a stump I had ground down to make room for the new shed…where the 857 will reside. See how that works 8
Darrenw85 605 #2804 Posted September 7 We picked up a parts tractor for a black hood restoration project for my Son and I. The plastic dash piece was worth the overall price and everything else was a bonus. 9

Some time back a few people relater the story of their fans blowing apart from spinning too fast. Mine has the same pulley that was used when it was used in the Heat/AC duct and works fine. I need to paint mine so it will look pretty like yours. 6

What RPM did the electric motor run at and what size pulley did it have? Cage blowers like this are designed for higher volume at lower pressures with low-ish RPM. Lots of electric motors run at ~1,800 RPM vs. the ~3,000 RPM of that Onan You’ll need to do the math to decide if it’s being overdriven.

The motor on the blower was an eighteen hundred RPM unit with about a five or six inch pulley so the fan speed is close to the same now. I understand that if you run these squirrel cage fans at too many RPMs you generate turbulence and reduce the air flow. Mine does a great job as it is set up.

c-series don 8,677 #2812 Posted October 15 I’m not sure if this qualifies for Side Shot Saturday or Front End Friday so I’m either late or really early! I had to move some tractors around to get out my Peco trailer vacuum for the upcoming leaf harvest, so I figured I’d snap a few pictures! I left them like this for a while so I could walk in the backyard every so often and just look at them😂 When my wife sees me doing this she just shakes her head, and can’t believe she’s been married to this weirdo for over thirty years!! 12

c-series don 8,677 #2814 Posted October 15 I restored the Work Horse (I bought new in 1984) and the C-175, but the LSE is 100% original. I just wax them occasionally. Thanks for asking! 1
