Cable on B-112 mower deck

Found this random loose cable on my deck and I don't know where it's supposed to connect to. Didn't see a place for it to thread into and I can't figure out what it's for. Also, my deck drive belt kept slipping off as soon as I noticed this so that may be related to it. Mower is a B-112

I had a B-115 in 1983 so it’s a little hard to remember but I believe that cable goes around that white nylon pulley and is part of the lift mechanism. I can’t remember how the belt tensioner works. Believe it or not I might still have a NOS cable! I’m sure someone here can post a link to the manual that shows the proper routing of the cable.

I looked at the lift mechanism and there was a hole which the end of the cable was supposed to be into and be supported by a cotter pin. Thank you Don
