Bear G 690 #1 Posted March 15, 2020 785 mile (round trip) ride today to Boyce, Va. and back home. Left at 6:30 am, back at 10:5 pm. Delivered a tractor (GT-14) I sold then picked up The D-Rod. Took long way down to avoid the outrageous tolls on Pa. turnpike. ($33 one way) Went over the river & thru the woods past grandmas, up the hill, down the hill, around The corner and several hundred curves. Then up & down some more hills. Mostly on skinny, two lane mountain roads. Really glad I didn’t take the big trailer. Extremely scenic but decided to just pay the toll $$ on way back.. Hit 5 states. Ohio, W.Va., Maryland, Va. & Pa.. Ran in light snow most the way home. 2 6
Pullstart 63,201 #2 Posted March 15, 2020 The D-Rod was once yours, right Barry? Couldn’t stand seeing it for sale again? It looks good with you! I know how much you admire a GT-14, I bet that was hard to let go..
Bear G 690 #3 Posted March 15, 2020 Yes. I sold the D-Rod last July and regretted it ever since. Glad I got it back. And yes, letting that GT-14 go was a tough pill to swallow. I REALLY liked that one.. I just don’t have room. Ive been “thinning the herd for a year now.. Trying to get down to 4-5 tractors.. Only keeping my absolute favorites. I think 6 is probably going to be a more realistic number.. 5 1
