ebinmaine 68,514 #1 Posted March 15, 2020 (edited) I've been thinking of building a holder of some sort or modifying an existing bench for quite a while. Needed to work on the 8 speed for Colossus so I decided now was a good time. I put some thought into what and where would be the best location to pop a couple holes in an otherwise perfectly fine surface. There's a space between the toolboxes on my low rise bench that I don't use for anything but setting something for minute (or a month). 953 nut 55,909 #2 Posted March 15, 2020 I have a small rolling table that has similar holes cut in it, my holes are no where near as tidy as yours though!
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,176 #3 Posted March 15, 2020 I kinda like the idea...But I'd hate to put a hole in my workbench.

I think it was @WHX24 that also has one. I've been watching my habits for weeks to see where was the least inconvenient place. 2

Lol Those are from a wall that was removed when we had the oil spill a little over a year ago. At some point I may possibly remember to attach them to the ceiling. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,107 #7 Posted March 15, 2020 Screw a piece of flat sheet metal to the piece you cut out and instant plug when the hole is not needed. Garry

ebinmaine 68,514 #12 Posted March 15, 2020 I put this setup to good use today. I'll update the Colossus'ussess' thread soon. Soo niiice to have a good steady third hand when putting the transmission together. Best part was when dropping the top half in place. NO movement from the bottom when trying to keep the shafts lined up and set the halves together.
