The trigger is bad. Replacement is costly.

Looking at Brian Miller's replacement kit. Any comments.

Just did the swap on my GT14.  easy enough to do.  not familiar with his kit.  you need points, points cover and gasket, plunger 4741104-s, coil and condenser.  will need to get a new ignition switch.

All the above parts in Paul's list can be purchased separately or you could call one of our vendors. A - Z Tractor.

Brian has some great stuff on his web site and the convenience of one stop shopping can't be beat. The GT-14 is a great machine,    :wwp:

Great, thank you for your reply. Would like to keep the machine as close to original as possible, that is breakerless and solid stare.

Did you test the trigger?  If you want to stay original it will cost you....

Finally got a chance to recheck the trigger. Still checked  bad. Checked the coil it is OK. You are right it would be costly to keep original.

Will probably use Brian's equipment,

Going to rewire the machine. What size wire, 14 or 16 or a combination.

Thanks for your help.

You will find that 14 gauge wire works well for everything. The connectors on your wiring system are Delphi-Packard GM 56 Series. Yuo can find them at a GOOD auto parts store or on :techie-ebay:        Don't use the junk connectors you find at the hardware store, they will come apart on you while you are driving.

I’ve got a 520xi with a ch20 kohler. It has 982 hours. It runs fine, but after seeing this valve train kit on eBay, I was wondering if there is any harm or need to throw one in it. Any one have insight into this?

I had a fire in 2019 which destroyed my pole barns and some wheel horse tractors and parts. i'm looking for someone who can use the engine that went thru the fire. It is not pristine but there must be some usable parts
please call George at 517-499-5678 for more info.
