Two Seat WH Suggestions

Was helping my old friend Rodger dig some parts out of his shop yesterday to take to the guy who is putting his John Deere R back together. Always enjoy going to Rodger's and messing with his old tractors (keep an eye out in other brands shortly for some pics I took yesterday). Anyway one of my favorites in his collection is his 2-seater Farmall BN that he built to ride with his grandkids in parades. Had to move it out of the way and since it hadn't been ran in about 3 years I took it for a drive around his place. It got me to thinking how cool it would be to do something similar with a Wheel Horse for my boys to ride. The B was an easy one to do this to, as the steering and seat is offset from the factory. 

 

Moving the seat and adding another one on a Wheel Horse wouldn't be that difficult, but I'm having trouble coming up with a way to offset the steering wheel and add another one. If anyone has any suggestions on this it would be greatly appreciated.

I put a wide front on a neighbors BN.  From the pics it doesn't look like the extra steering wheel does anything...

You are correct, the extra steering wheel is just a dummy, but his grandkids sure enjoy sitting there and "driving" in the parade. I figure if I could figure out something similar but on a Wheel Horse my kids could enjoy it. Thing I'm having trouble with is how to offset the functional steering wheel to one side to line up with the seat and make room for the seat and wheel on the opposite side.

If you mount the new steering shaft parallel to the factory mount you could use a couple sprockets and a chain.

@ClassicTractorProfessor  think at best , you are playing with fire !  more opportunity for injuries / failure then making it a regular set up . too many areas to draw attention away from moving, attachment  drive function . just my own opinion , but leave it at that , pete
