CCW 1,292 #1 Posted March 5, 2020 Three years ago I brought home my father's 312-8 and always struggled with the choke and throttle. Back in January there was a thread discussing choke and throttle cables which encouraged me to check the ones on my horse. I pulled them out and lubricated them. Today I fired up the tractor and am very happy with how smoothy the cables are operating. They worked so well I thought they were disconnected. I checked the choke linkage to be sure it was moving. Liquid wrench to loosen and then a bit of oil worked in drop by drop. RS was a great help in this improvement. 7
peter lena 8,580 #3 Posted March 5, 2020 ccw, glad you found how simple it is to make something better, every time a see a rusty anything i quickly get oil on it just to reverse its downward spiral. same thing goes for the underside of a mower deck, oil soak kills off the grunge before scraping. pto lever rusty and stiff to use? lubricate it, dozer blade lever stiff ? lubricate it , once you start this view , you will have a much easier functioning horse , pete
