bellevillerod 834 #1 Posted March 4, 2020 Hey Men Missed this site for a while, life threw us a curve ball. But we seem to have the road ahead graded, not paved but the ruts removed for now. So I was able to move my 854 out of the shed an into the shop. I was able to find a 854 that was unmolested. But in need of a refresh. So the tear down begins, as normal I will need some guidance from you all. Think I am going to take it down and do a 100% redo. Not going for a show rig, but a real nice example of what it once was. bellevillerod 834 #2 Posted March 4, 2020 Well this was a first, the guy I bought it from claimed it ran. He lost the key...... I can"t get it to fire up and run. When I pulled the fuel pump I see that it does not have the lever on it. Did they all come with a lever? Could it have a pulse pump? Does anyone know of where I could get one, I can't find the lever anywhere. Willing to buy one if anyone has one for sale. Really want to keep it as original as I can. No lever no worries. Yer good. @buckrancher sells a replacement diaphragm for them. Saw your classified ... You should be able to rebuild that one. The material inside is as stiff as a board. That would be my fault as I drained it dry before storing it. Rod, I'm no scientist but I would lean towards that not being your fault... Age alone is of course a factor and then when you add the possibility of ethanol into the equation it changes the flexibility and feel of that rubber and makes it resemble cardboard. I've seen a few of those rubber membranes that were still surrounded with gasoline and stiff as a board.. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Knocked the pin out gave it a couple of twists and she popped right off. Can't wait to get to the hitch pin.....last one I had to remove from a Commando 8 gave me a fight. When I get a minute I'll take it out. Not much to see...lol shiny metal pin. It was the 2nd one that fought me hard and I swore I was gonna come up with a way to avoid that in the future. When that rust has 30+ years to weld itself together it doesn't want to let go. I had a set of hub's on that same rig that were stuck on so tight I had to split them with a cut off wheel to remove them. Just gives the level of satisfaction a huge bump when the tractor is finished. All the effort is so worth it. The seat was/is in rough shape with some cracks and welding done to it. But we'll get it taken care of. Now I did notice that my lever for the parking brake is gone. Any chance I can get some dimensions from someone for one? So I can fab one up, and do you guys know where I might find the knob for it.
