Kohler K482 - Mystery Hose ?

Recommended Posts

kylep

I am working on a Roof Palomino mower that has a Kohler K482 engine in it and have a question about a "mystery" hose on the engine. It is located directly above the oil filter. The end of the hose has been plugged with a bolt. I am not seeing anywhere that the end of the hose should hook up to. I have attached a couple of pictures. Does anyone know why the hose is there or what it attaches to?? Thanks for any information.

Thank you for the quick reply. I appreciate your thoughts. I have attached the only current picture of the Palomino that I have. I have the original mower deck for it but have it removed.

The breather is on top of the head... Is it screwed in, or on a barbed fitting?

It is a barbed fitting.

My K482 just has an Allen head plug there. Maybe a crankcase vacuum port for LP gas regulator or some kind of diaphragm pump?

On most of the diagrams I see it's a 90 degree fitting with an oil pressure guage fitted to it. Might be a guage feed.
