Oldcpecdr 255 #1 Posted March 1, 2020 Morning all My B100 is set up with a WH plow. It has a release lever mounted at the top that pulls up on a vinyl covered steel cable that goes to a bell crank mounted on the frame that controls the locked left, right , and center plow positions. The cable is now running from the handle near the top down through some eyebolts and then to the crank. Unlike a cable in sheath (think bicycle brake cable) it just runs through the eyebolts directly to the bell crank. It is showing wear at the points it goes through the eyebolts . Is this a factory setup ? I just noticed it last night as I was changing oil and doing general maintenance. Should I fabricate a sliding sheathed cable with adjustable cable ends like a bike brake cable? or maybe a small copper tube from eyebolt to eyebolt with a little grease and run the existing cable through it? ebinmaine 67,306 #2 Posted March 1, 2020 Factory setup would have been a much stiffer cable, bordering on rod. Kind of like mechanics wire.
c-series don 8,666 #3 Posted March 1, 2020 The older style handles were basically straight and used a piece of 1/8” steel rod to go from the handle to the bell crank. I’m not exactly familiar with the newer style bent handle and if it’s cable operated from the factory. I really do like the copper tube idea,I think that would work great! peter lena 8,583 #4 Posted March 1, 2020 removed some of the angle in the bends, ( made the handle straighter ) also detail lubed the entire rotation set up . and added washers at each clevis point to firm up function. jmoo , pete

Just wondering what you came up with to solve your issue?
