Its called the tow valve...turn it 180 degrees, and the wheels will turn freely. As you look towards the back of the tractor, itll be above and to the right of the filler neck where you add fluid for the tranny... Ill see if i have a pic, otherwise others will be along to explain it better. Good luck; youll be getting my 'dream' tractor, lol... Edit to add...founda pic; hopefully it helps. Fingers crossed I know the transaxle in my GT is from a C-160, but if the original GT trans is like the C series, it won't be on top of the pump like above. Sprayed it when it hit the floor. Already turning by hand. Tomorrow after work I'm going to pull and clean the starter. Oldskool 6,640 #161 Posted March 3, 2020 As it stands at the moment the starter seems to be stripped and no compression. Weather that is a stuck exhaust valve or the rings are stuck . Not sure yet. The outside of the gear is fine but it seems to be stripped inside the gear. ebinmaine 67,267 #164 Posted March 3, 2020 well I'm not like a small engine Master mechanic or anything but I've been around them for 40 plus years. That's a new one to me. I've seen them more times than I care to admit stripped on the outside. Never the inside. Easy enough to replace I believe. While you're in there disassembling the starter nose cone make sure to clean it all up. Check the spring. Put DRY lube back in there. Not anyting oil-based. I can't imagine they are. On other Kohler engines... There is no end cap because it is part of the sheet metal. The fan shroud. I just had one of those apart a few weeks ago. If I remember right there should be the nut that comes off end of the shaft, a washer, the spacer that actually holds the spring in place, spring, then the gear itself. I'd be more than happy to help out with the picture but I won't be able to get to it for a couple days. Stupid work is interfering with my fun time schedule. Bushing size would be the only factor missing. the only thing I can tell you off the top of my head is that the spring has smaller coil size on the bushing end and the bushing is smaller than the starter gear.
