Breakerless ignition People who messed with them frequently screwed them up.  You can replace it or convert points battery....

It's pretty easy from what I've researched.

I even have the parts here...

Yeah that carb is likely what's missing.

The air cleaner housing should be vertical on that tractor.

Easy enough to replace.

No sir.

None of the older regular sized horses had hydraulic 3-point.

The d-series did in the mid-70s. Those were the larger ones all their own species or breed if you will.

My 855 sort of has a hydraulic 3-pt.

The rear attachment hitch is connected to my rock shaft by a cable that runs through the chassis. It's not real heavy duty (although upgrading the cable would fix that) but it does allow a rear implement to be raised or lowered with the HY2 unit.

Looks like a killer deal for $200!  That electric PTO is worth at least half of that if it works!  As Richard said, the automatics are well sealed from the elements, that’s not a worry.  The engine if sitting with pout a carb... well that might have a bit of moisture in it.

If the engine is a loss     i would guess it would be some what easy to repower.

True enough.

There's Kohler engines around...

Be nice to find a 16 to pop in there.

I've a couple 12s but bigger would be better.

With the electric clutch that gives you the freedom to use other types like a twin... No need for a side loaded thrust bearing on the crankshaft.

The 3 point hitch by itself is worth more than $200.

Carb has been removed, your picture shows that.    Not too big a deal though, if the rest of the engine isin good condition it will be OK.

I am not sure why the engine stopped running in the first place. I did swing by this morning to try and turn it by hand. Not much to grab ahold of but couldn't get it to wiggle.

I looked around a few times for a setup for my GT, and couldn't find one for less than $400.

@Oldskool If you don't buy that tractor, I will consider you crazy! I love GT's, and you have far more than $200 worth of parts there. Engines can be had. Like others have said, if it just "quit running" the breakerless ignition system is likely to blame. I've seen plenty of engines that were good and tight (not worn out, in other words) stick from sitting. Might just need some MM oil in the cylinder. If it were around here, it would be in the back of my truck even if it didn't have an engine at all.

Looks like the air filter is under the hood still, and with any luck it'll still have the elbow bolted to it.

I did not see an elbow. Yes I have used MM a few times to free up engines myself. I may be crazy but not THAT crazy lol. Yup buying it.
