Stepney 2,325 #28 Posted February 27, 2020 My vote for working tractor would not be something 'standard'. Let's call it slightly kitbashed. Personally I have a '68 Electro 12 with a 16hp swapped in. Limited slip rear axle makes the machine chug right through mud and snow that no other WH I've owned would ever manage. Large 1 1/8" axles. For such a machine fitting newer implement brackets is not difficult, but IMHO would need to be done to keep it 'feasible' for usage with newer implements as time goes on. I have the 520h type Balloon rear tires on it. With such a model you have a factory LSD and hydro implement lift. A second accessory hydro pump could be easily added for other tasks. I am working on a front hitch mounted air compressor, you could also make a quick-tach hydraulic tank and pump for whatever you may want to do. A splitter has hung in my mind. If not for the LSD on the older rigs, I'd go with the general large C series models. But having owned both, I love the limited slip. Do you run the belts tight all the time or do you have a system to leave them loose while starting the tractor then tighten after started. I was just wondering about the extra drag on the starter. I agree with Stepney an Charger or Electro would cover all the bases except the 3 point. I have 6 Charger/Electros they are fantastic. Oldskool 6,640 #36 Posted February 27, 2020 I will have some pics tomorrow. I have word of an old purple and white rider that may have a rear lift of sorts. No much info at this time. Not even sure of the make. All I do know is that it is squarish. Squarish fenders and the grille leans forward.
