Need help with c-161 choke cable

Recommended Posts

Maxie

Well I got the throttle cable working good but the choke cable is giving me a fit.  I ran WD40 down it and its moving pretty good. It will choke but when I push the lever down it will not unchoke.

I don't k now what to do.  Which hole does the cable hook into in the handle? I have it in the lower hole.  Do I need a new cable?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Maxine.

I figured out what was wrong and it's working fine now.

Thanks.

The cable was slipping in the "u" shaped slot on the lever under the dash.  It was bent just enough to let it slip.. I used pliers and squeezed it together and now it works fine. I got a new battery yesterday.  I'm about ready to put the hood, seat, rear fender and tires on.  It's been a long project but I've enjoyed it.
