Horse Play 393 #1 Posted February 25, 2020 I'm in the process of finishing up my K91 and need some help on the throttle and governor setup. When I bought the engine, the throttle bracket was off the engine. Where does this go - between the block and speed control disc? With the slot cutout, what keeps it in place? Horse Play 393 #2 Posted February 25, 2020 Should the speed control disc be straight? This is how it was shaped when I bought the motor.
wallfish 17,141 #3 Posted February 25, 2020 Remove the governor arm, remove the nut and straighten out the disk. It's bent. You will see the shoulder on the back of the nut which pinches the slot on that bracket between it and the block.
Horse Play 393 #4 Posted February 25, 2020 Thanks! Does removing the the nut and reinstalling at a different position change anything in the governor setup? I've never messed with these before.

WHX?? 49,627 #9 Posted February 26, 2020 Noticed this on the same bracket while refreshing a motor... any idea why the arrow is stamped in?
Horse Play 393 #10 Posted February 28, 2020 Thanks for all the help! I got it all apart. I ordered a new a new throttle disc shipped for under $10 - mine's really bent up and has an old throttle cable wire and end stuck in a hole. Does anyone know of where I can get the sheetmetal cable clamp that goes on the end of the throttle bracket?

Scour the Hillman drawers at your favorite hardware store you should be able to find them. I believe the size you want is 1/8 or 1/4 " If you are in need of a nice little kit for the shelf... https://www.amazon.com/s?k=cable+clamp&crid=13E6RH7MJ3BYD&sprefix=cable+cla%2Caps%2C207&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_9
