Desko 610 #1 Posted February 25, 2020 Hi all I'm currently rebuilding a 8 speed from a 1989 310-8 for a co worker and the inner axle bearing is shot. I thought it was the 1533 bearing but when I check the part number it comes up #111199 and is $82 from toro. I tried what I thought was a spare 1533 bearing I had and it didn't fit on the bull gear. Maybe it just wasn't the right bearing? Or did the later 8 speed go away from the 1533 to something different? Its been a long while since I've messed with them and he's not looking to spend a bunch on it as the gears and everything have seen better days. Thanks! ebinmaine 68,345 #2 Posted February 25, 2020 I can't answer your question directly as my knowledge is with older machines. One thought might be to get a used transmission from one of the members in your area.
Desko 610 #3 Posted February 25, 2020 That would be the best to do but its not my call unfortunately. He uses it to haul wood is all so he just wants it repaired so a new outer axle bearing and inner and all new seals.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,096 #4 Posted February 25, 2020 Yes the carrier bearing did change. Here is what I have on it but check to be sure - (SKF 6008-C3 40x68x15mm) Any bearing supplier should save you $'s. This should be the transmission. stevasaurus 22,863 #5 Posted February 25, 2020 Garry's information is correct...look for SKF 6008 needle bearing. Guessing around $15-$20. Here is a thread on what happened...good reading with all the numbers.
