cafoose 3,354 #1 Posted February 20, 2020 My son and his girlfriend are on vacation and he is having car problems. He is in Massachusetts on vacation. He didn't say where but I can get the location later. He went to Auto Zone and had the codes red. They said a misfire code was on it. He's afraid to drive it home to PA. It's a 2011 GMC Terrain. If anyone in the Massachusetts area can help he thinks he can get it to you. We would really appreciate it. I have a busy work schedule and I'm in York, PA. ebinmaine 67,265 #2 Posted February 20, 2020 I'm originally from north central Massachusetts but of course leaving Maine now. Maybe if you could get a narrowed down location you could reach out to whoever is in that immediate area...

ebinmaine 67,265 #6 Posted February 20, 2020 Cape cod if I remember right? I don't have any connections down there but hopefully somebody else does. You might want to check out the Member Map and see if there's somebody in the area.

Oldcpecdr 255 #8 Posted February 20, 2020 The best dealer in the area is Battles Buick-GMC, one town away in Bourne Ma. If you want an independent, MR T's Auto Repair is one town away the other way in Mashpee , Ma. Either one is excellent. If you have triple A or some other towing service go up over the bridge to Buzzards Bay and see Tony at Bay Village Auto, smaller independent that does fair and honest work. But he drive it to AutoZone to get the codes deciphered? Seems to me if the timing belt snapped it would have been instantaneous and not able to be driven to AutoZone.

He said Battles Buick-GMC told him he is getting a new engine under warranty because it's a recall. All he needs to do is rent a car and pay the towing himself. Today is his birthday so I told him happy birthday you got a new engine LOL 2

Just thinking about it maybe the timing belt stretched and jumped time which is why it was running bad and later it snapped?
