Oldskool 6,640 #1 Posted February 19, 2020 I picked these up the other day. They are 4.00-18 with a 1' bore. I would like to make something to tow behind the RJ or the Speedex. it could be something useful or something just for fun. I have a few trailers already, not saying I don't need another but I'm just looking for something not so plain or ordinary. Throw some ides at me and pics if you have them. Don't let these wheels just sit in my shed

Sounds like a nice stock pile of parts. Might make a nice horse hauler! I remember back in the day these wheels would be on the front of a drag car either a van or an old Ford. ZXT 2,401 #19 Posted February 20, 2020 I'd hate to cut up a good axle, assuming you wanted it narrower than that.

If you did, you could press whatever bearing race and use the factory bearing for whatever spindle you wind up using.
The Tuul Crib 7,336 #22 Posted February 20, 2020 No No No leave the axle as is never destroy old parts just ad to them !

It has an aftermarket bolt on wagon conversion hitch on it
The Tuul Crib 7,336 #24 Posted February 20, 2020 Im with @ZXT If there is a way to bore the centers out to fit bearings on the spindle that would be the way to go. Add bearing race and bearings
