953/1054. Idler pulley

Recommended Posts

What size is the 953/1054 idler pulley?

we are working on a 953 that either has a stretched #1592. Drive belt (1/2 x 82). Or an idler pulley that is the incorrect size.

the previous owner put a cub cadet hydro pump on this which is incorrect.  That is why hydro pump does not have the pulley on it.  The cub housing sticks out father than the Wheel Horse Hein Werner hydro pump!

Lane, the pulley looks like the right style. Lets see the belt. Belts don't stretch. The sides wear down causing the belt to fit deeper in the pulley giving the illusion that it's longer. Maybe a "retired guy "here can measure a pulley as I'm leaving for work.

Don't know how accurate it is but this is what I have for the 1623 idler pulley

V-idler pulley - 3.062" OD - 1623 replaced by 92-7102 (Generic 1614ZZ bearing Used in belt idler for 5-2321 deck) 3.0625" OD x .375" ID for 1/2" belt

953 nut

Lane, the balt for a 953/1054 is listed as a 82 1/2" bet and I have found that a Tractor Supply 93"" X 1/2 Kevlar belt (4L-830K) is just right,

Any back story to the green paint remnants?  What was someone trying to access with those torch cut holes?

No knowledge on green paint but previous owner tried to access the Ross Steering gear parts without removing.
