You have a ‘65 LS stick El Camino and you don’t daily that?  Huh?  What?  Why?  How?

That’s an impressive list array of wheels :handgestures-thumbupright:

Well, if I'd ever finish up the swap I might! Lol! It was my first car. Even then, it still needs paint and interior done.. which is typical of all of my cars. My 81 blue 928 is the only car I have with decent paint!

Been having a heck of a time getting the hydraulic clutch setup working. After that, I'm left with finishing the fuel system and getting electric fans.

I could stand to shed a few.. I only buy things because they're stupid cheap. Only thing I have more than $500 in are my blue Porsche and the V10 truck.

Forgot to put my 85 D100, short bed 318/5 speed on the list.

That works! Looks great! My dad has a knock-off Manx body and a VW buggy pan with a title. That'll be a project to toss together later this year and make street legal.

Whats the procedure for getting that one down?

The white cross tubes under it are the pallet fork holes for the Hilo.

here’s a video explaining what’s up.  Spoiler, the end doesn’t end so well!

Yeah, I literally went out to get you some film and that happened!  Can’t tell ya how many times I’ve been up and down that ladder in the barn!

I’ve got a little scrape on my shin, dirt in my back and a bruised ego!

Jeez! Glad you didn't come out any worse than that! Just finished the second video. Extension ladders on concrete with nothing for the feet to really grab onto scare me. I rode one down a couple years back and I hurt for quite a while. I feel horrible for asking about it now! I'm sorry!

That is a cool rig though. Looks like you've put a ton of time and energy into it. That Subaru is pushing just a little more power than the VW 4 banger!

I ain’t dead, I’ll be fine.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

It’s been a labor of love.  We have a blast with it and I can’t begin to sum up the totals of what I’ve dumped into it... but the fab work has gotten my shop business and therefore it becomes a write off!  The 1641 that was in the car when we picked it up was decent.  Maybe 50 hp.. maybe?  The EJ25 is rated at 165 I believe and an EJ22 is something like 140.

Maybe this summer we’ll pull it down and get it going again, but otherwise I have had so much fun doing tractors, it’s not too missed.

Here are some more clips from my YouTube channel about the car.

Here are two videos from the last trip to the dunes.  That day we ended up with new paddle tires, wheels, adapters and fuel pump.  My Buddy was just learning to drive it and didn’t grasp the concept of flooring it :D

A little vehicle update in the fleet...  we ended up finding a low mileage ‘15 Suburban and traded in the ‘11.  It’s from Webster, NY and has been dubbed “Webster”

The Jeep got to play a bit yesterday, we even took a trip to town for some essentials like a water pump, oil changes for the fleet, more latex gloves, etc.  the kids stayed inside the door less Jeep while I did my ransacking of the parts store all safetied up.

I wondered, being it’s a suburb of Rochester...  I even googled the town and found that motto :handgestures-thumbupright:

There’s a few alright, but we have cut down significantly if you can believe it.  There’s almost as many vehicles as there are Wheel Horses!

’69 C10 350/3 on the tree

’73 VW (Subaru powered buggy)

’84 S10 305/700R4

’84 F-350 Dump truck (purchased solely to move dirt while we some day dig a pond and it’ll be sold)

’96 Subaru Impreza Legacy (need to pull drivetrain and harness/computer and scrap the car out)

’97 Jeep TJ Wrangler

’99 Subaru Forrester (this was purchased, engine swapped and given to a family member in need.  She recently gave it back, unexpectedly.  Not sure what to do with this for the time being)

‘99 Silverado 1500 5.3 with front plow, only 76k on the ticker (thinking this is a prefect first vehicle for one of the girls in a few years)

’00 K3500 5.7 plow truck

’01 2500HD 4x4 plow truck 6.0 (I’ve decided to sell this in another month and a half)

’01 2500HD 2 wheel drive “Norman” 6.6/ZF6

’02 Suburban 5.3 (will either become a topless lifted dune truck or drivetrain pulled and scrapped out)

‘11 Suburban 5.3 (once Jeep is fixed up and reliable to drive every day, this’ll be sold)

’15 Suburban 5.3 LTZ

’20 Silverado 2.7T

My wife has been kind of ragging me about our fleet:

19 Jeep Cherokee 4 banger Multiair

15 Ram Express 5.7 Hemi

85 Jeep CJ7 with 258 six

72 Chevy C 10 305 with 350 heads about Wookieepedia miles

67 Valiant 4 door with 225 slant six

60 MGA with Olds 215 V8

57 Chevy Bel Air 2 door hardtop .030 over 350 4 speed.

Next time she comments, I'll have to show her your lists.

Love to see some pics of the 85 and down portion.

Especially the engine of the MGA.

And Trina would love the Bel Air. Her favorite car.

What's the compression ratio on that? About 6.5:1?

No idea what the compression ratio is - but it breathes pretty freely.  I've always run regular gas and it has never knocked.  This was originally a 350 Quadrajet engine.  The PO short blocked it with the 305, leaving the 350 uppers on it.  This is a long bed fleetside, currently being used for hauling and chores.

Not sure where the Wookieepedia miles came from.  Thought I typed 200,000 there.

Like ZXT's fleet,  everything from the CJ7 down are projects.  First on the list is the CJ7.  That has Michigan cancer and needs a new floor.  Something is funky in the engine too.  I'm planning on swapping in a later model 4 liter head and maybe converting to fuel injection.

I brought the 57 when I was in high school.  Was a 283 power pack three speed with overdrive back then.

I'll have to dig around for some pictures.

I doubt you could make it spark knock if you wanted to. People used to put 305 heads on smog 350's to up the compression since they had a smaller combustion chamber. Putting 350 heads on what is probably a low compression 305 would bring the CR down significantly... But if it runs good, who cares!

One of my dad's 57's (his main driver) is a 283 power pack, 3 speed overdrive car with factory AC. The 283 was rebuilt incorrectly and we put a 350 in its place about 6 years ago, with the intent of putting the 283 back in it. With 4.10 gears, the 350 gets 21 MPG running 70-75. I think he's decided to leave it be.
