Thanks!  It has the original seat cover but he didn’t want it to get worse so he laid it up

Good looking tractor.  Are the lights and 5 lug wheels standard on that model?

The lugs I think are but the lights on it are added.  Husband ordered these from Derek Workman!  Was told the others are not right!

Jen:

Nice original looking 854 - complete right down to the 2 spoke steering wheel, glass sediment bowl,  and parking brake knob.

Taking the 2 piece gas tank apart can be a bit tricky - there are more than a dozen small (#8 I think) screws and they tend to break, Once it is apart, it is super easy to clean the inside prior to reassembly. You may want to ditch the sediment bowl in favor of a snow blower style shutoff valve and inline gas filter - I find the glass bowl looks cool, but can be troublesome.

A couple of things to check - both of my 854's were used for plowing, one exclusively. Check the plate of the frame that is fastened to the Unidrive - 3 of the 4 mounting holes were cracked out and the left ear on the T shaped cast iron lower steering support was broken off. Plowing puts a lot of twist and vibration into both of those parts.

Yes, the 854 came with good 5 bolt axle flanges - MUCH better than the cast 3 bolt earlier style.

Curious, which mount do you have on the axle for the HY-3 cylinder? Is it a 2 piece clamp on or a full plow bracket with the mounting ears on it?

Bill

Tell me about that dual fueler option there?  I recognize the “Junkyard Dog” and that periwinkle one looks like it deserves a story...

If you want to post the serial numbers with model on what you have will try to add them to the appropriate lists.

The 11331 on the blade looks like a 1961 serial but the A-frame is a later model.

Amazed at what looks like original paint on everything. Well taken care of.

Well interesting enough there is a story!!!  Glad you asked!  Today is the anniversary this very day!  My father in-law was born in 1961 hint the 1961 suburban 400 painted blue/white!  A tough surviver!  It has a snow blade painted white that has temporary decals with the words (dozing through cancer) the blue is for representation of the particular cancer!  The idea is to get a decal of a tractor spinning tires and driving into the words cancer!  Letters scattering!  He fought bravely and through that fight was a born again Christian who loved the LORD JESUS CHRIST!!  Three years ago he went home!  That started this addition to horses!  How you say?  My father in-law (Billy) sister’s husband had a 1960 in there garage and every time my husband and father in-law traveled out there to see her, it’s been told to me that my husband would throw a fit wanting to play on the tractor!  Years of doing so my father-in-law actually purchased the tractor for my husband.  My hubby did everything from yardwork the lawnmower pulls tell the transmission got caught in two gears.  So it sat for awhile tell someone spotted it, offered money to the father in-law!  When he was getting sick my father in-law tried to buy it back! The guy refused and my husband really wanted it.  My husband never wrote the name down regrettably..hoping his Dad would get well.  After his father pasted, he struggled and I wanted to help him feel close to him still.  I not ever seeing a wheel horse began to hunt for one!  We did find one, and thus the continued breeding of these things!  I’ve become as addicted as him both for different reasons!  Thanks for asking it allowed me to share!

@pullstartOh man I guess I forgot you asked about the RJ with working dual tank!  It’s really an unusual one!  Single tank with a valve to change from the front or back!  Located a hood and was going to change it back...  I might sell it?  Undecided.  Lol. Hope that answered your question.  Yes that is Chris G pride and joy with Buzz’s sickle mower!

It’s so cool how a piece of steel, or piece of machinery can bring a family so close... or remind us of loved ones passed.  Thanks for sharing, and even on the anniversary.

These belts have been hanging in my garage since last used I believe there off a 754 I used to have. Bought them new and didn't use much.
Don't know why I took them off. Some fraying on top in a few places from use, also don't know why but selling as is and photo'd. 20.00 shipped if you can use them.
PM for PayPal info or questions. 16" ID approx.

Okay friends husband and I brought home another mutilated mutation that I felt sorry for and wanted to fix….  Questions will it run??  Lol… what model for sure?  So I believe it’s an 854 and would like feed back to confirm..  lots of stuff coming off… has the k181s tag on the engine!  Two piece gas tank!  So if my friends on here would agree or disagree I would be able to see how much I have been learning over the years!

      Hello y'all,

I hope everyone is staying safe and staying healthy. If not, i pray that you or whoever is afflicted be healed soon.

I hope to learn a lot from the forums and hopefully can use some of you young whipper snappers for your brains (ideas, how to's and such). Lol. Btw i am only 30, much respect for the older generation(s)!

For me, well... If i would have found this 5-6 years ago, i would have said I am new to Wheel Horse. That is about the time my dad bought the 312-8 (that i now own). That purchase and talking to my dad about implements/attachments that i could purchase is what got me so interested in wheel horse.

Like i mentioned, i started with a 312-8. When i purchased from my dad, it came with a mower pan and a snowblower (wrong model tho). Wisconsin winters were brutal and a regular snowblower was taking me 2+ hours to clear the driveway. Thats when i bought my B-100, included in that deal was a mower pan and a plow. Boy... that B-100 has plowed a lot of snow. I love it.

I had also bought 2 lack luster tillers at some auctions. Well, that made me look for a tiller attachment. Found one relatively close and went to go look. $200 later, i had a tiller loaded into my truck and i had asked if he had the tillers mount for the rear axle. He said he wasnt sure, but he has a wheel horse sitting in the back. Told me to go look.

I look over this 854, and there is no rear mount. Just as im getting up, he asks if i want the tractor. I said i only got the $200 i gave you. He said free of charge. And thats how i gained my 854. (854s hood is in my shop)

I want to start restoring my wheel horses, pretty paint, new decals, clean them up. I am proud of what i own.

And now im looking at getting a D200 with FEL and a backhoe. Its a sketch time to buy but i could use the tractor for house and cabin work.

Pics are attached. Please ignore the messes. They aint the prettiest tractors, but they all run.
