Wow! Talk about sticker shock!

Please move if needed mods!  Check out what I just saw on one of the auction sites!  Very nice tractor, but the price!!  $5,999!  It is all original, but for that price you’re getting into Sr range.  Maybe this seller is just reaching for the sky, but I don’t think anyone will ever pay that price.  I’m not sure about the rapid price escalation of the prices of parts and tractors.  Affordability is one of the things that I love about our hobby, but it might start to exclude some of us at the current rates.  This isn’t meant for anyone here, as we all are in it for the fun, but it just seems like times are changing faster than our wallets!

A guy that pays that is looking for a divorce.  Hmmm, maybe that would work??  :eusa-think:  You can tell the seller is not a Wheel Horse guy.  None of us would post a price that ended with $ .99, we would all be like $250, $25, $6,000, etc.  :orcs-cheers:  Can you imagine telling someone...you bought your horse for $399.99???  :banana-linedance:

$5,999.99?   Why don't they just say $6,000?   Anyway, I think the seller is on a different planet. :sci-fi-grayalien:

Oh, another luck knight..

independently for what or where you look, there is allway‘s one „Luck knight“ they upping a price to astronomical ranges.

mostly they tell you stories about the things, like this was Elvis GT or similar... or it is extremely rare while.... blah blah blah.

Whatever he tells, ( it’s extremely rare, or even lies or however) i think it‘s a normal thing on the market

one is the first whos tryes.

As long as this price will be payed, he seemed he’s right and earned a lot of Money with one single Deal,

if this is a fair deal or not,  that’s the other side of the medal - but if not, just the buyer is the horned.

The market regulated mostly itself the Pricerange.

So as on desinterests once he can keep his 5999,99Tractor for the eterinty

or he must drop the price to a reasonable range to sell it.

That‘s normal markets rules.

But on the flip side...I hate ads with no price or where the seller just says “make me an offer” or “best offer”. I pretty much pass on all those type of ads.
I’m glad we “outlawed” make an offer ads here on Red Square!

At least this guy has a starting price so you have an idea of where he wants to be price wise (outer space in this case )

I don't sell on fleabay or any other sites than CL..  A seller once wrote (maybe I've seen it here?) That the 'bay will auto re-advertise and set unruly prices.

Perhaps this is one of those?

There is always one person in the crowd that wants some astronomical price - I don't think it's a reflection on the hobby as a whole. I view it as an abnormality.

I still find tractors at very reasonable prices (albeit not always local). I haven't seen the rapid price escalation that you mention. I've yet to spend more than $225 on a tractor, so there shouldn't be too many people being excluded!

Probably the owner's spouse wants the owner to get that "rusty old thing" out of her garage. He responds by saying OK I will put it up for sale, but it may take a while. Besides, it is listed as OR BEST OFFER!             :text-lol:

Now here's a man who thinks like me .

I'd bet a paycheck he has had NOT ONE stupid caller saying " I have $ 324.00 in cash / 2 frozen pizzas and a lifetime membership to The Sneaker of the Month Club " .

I already called but they said they wouldn't take less than $5995.9999

But bring it up to THREE frozen pizzas and they'd talk to the boss....

he's obviously fishing for the clueless buyer.  there are people out that pay stupid money for things.

a few examples I have seen.

1. a good friend had a gorgeous restored wheelhorse.  an individual saw him driving stopped asked about buying it, he said no, the guy on the spot offered 2500 cash, it sold.

2.  similar situation I had someone stop and ask about my one panzer tractor.  wanted to buy it.  it's not for sale, he had zero clue what it was.  he just liked the color and wanted it for his kids, he assumed it was in the 3 to 4 thousand dollar  range and probably would have spent that.

3.  an individual on another  forum wanted a restored panzer.  he spent a few thousand on one, then had it shipped to Australia.  he stated from the beginning money was no object to him.

I guess the point is there are people out there if they want they will buy it, there is saying or something there is an ass for every saddle.

eBay does automatically relist, but they will only lower prices, and the seller must give permission to do so. Sometimes a seller will list with a rediculously high price just to see if there is a sucker out there.

I regularly buy from fleabay.

I've seen incredibly inflated prices MANY times.
