WHNJ701 4,165 #29 Posted February 16, 2020 I did an 80 mile search just now on ebay for wheelhorse tractors in my nj area and only 2 are available. I think the one has been on there for 5 years now unsold. I know alot of other brand collectors and they all tell a similar story, Facebook Craigslist ebay, there is not much listed anymore for garden tractors like how it was a couple years ago. as i said above the last 10 to 15 years alot of house properties changed hands and they were cleaned out. my best luck has always been word of mouth, people knew I was looking for this stuff and they contacted me before listing it or scraping it. now I have more than enough projects and tractors. I don't buy them anymore. yet a few people still keep bringing me free ones

ohiofarmer 3,265 #31 Posted February 17, 2020 CL has been OK if I am patient. I am really just looking for a decent dependable machine that is easy to work on and fuel efficient. To me, that is a Kohler cast iron single Our grass can really grow fast and be tough to get through, so pretty much 12 horsepower with a sharp blade 42" cut to get anything done with enjoyment.. Ten horses with a manual transmission is OK. Square hoods do pretty well for me. Even if I would have to pay 800 for a nice one, it would out work anything the box stores have.. i am always short a good deck or need a better engine or something for the herd, but that is what makes it fun.. I am having so much fun with the older ones that the garage queen 400 series will probably be someone's barn find........
