dells68 7,498 #1 Posted February 11, 2020 Ok guys, I’ve been toying with this idea for a few years and I have most of the spare parts laying around. What do you get when you cross one really worn out wheel barrow tub, a manual trans, short frame, 16 up Briggs Vanguard, flipped axle, and hopefully two trashed suburban hoods welded into one? I don’t know, so what do you guys think? Worth it or just save the parts? Stretch the frame another foot or so or keep it short? Have I lost what’s left of my mind? 7 3

Stretch the frame another foot or so or keep it short? Either way is great but I like the stretch idea. Have I lost what’s left of my mind? Yes and we're all ok with it. 2

dells68 7,498 #10 Posted February 11, 2020 I decided to tack in a sheet of metal to start a wheel tub. First of all, I’m going to have to suck it in tight for my arse to fit between them there tubs! I haven’t trimmed it off even with the tub yet, just experimenting and I had an idea. I laid out a fender line on the metal sticking out with fine line tape. I initially thought I might carry it out the back with a slight upturn kind of like a model t fender, but I almost think it would look more sinister with the tubs trimmed off even with the tub. What do you think? Not committed yet, just playing to see what I like. 5
Pullstart 62,734 #11 Posted February 11, 2020 I’ve thought about this short and hardly. Go for it! Yes yes yes!
oliver2-44 9,661 #12 Posted February 11, 2020 Very cool! How about a single wheel tricycle front end like a Switcher mower. It might be wicked to steer and would look like a land yacht. 1
8ntruck 6,975 #13 Posted February 11, 2020 I like it. Kind of a T tub vibe. How about a vertical windshield and a pair of gas light lanterns either side of the windshield where the cowl would normally be. Big wide back tires and maybe skinny bicycle wheels and tires up front. Oh ya - big tall shift lever with an 8 ball knob.
Stormin 9,981 #14 Posted February 11, 2020 Lever steer would look good as well.

I had the same problem with the Low Rider Dell. I pushed the seat bucket sides out as far as I could and it is still tight and getting tighter. You may want to make some spacers to push the wheels out a couple inches. Your "arse" will thank you some day. After I had the seat bucket to this point, I squeezed in and found I couldn't get my legs apart enough to straddle the console. I had to rework the front end to clear my legs. 1 2 3

I was realizing once again that this website is a very positive place with a bunch of great people..... But we sure don't seem to mind at all when we are trying to get someone else to do a bunch of work. Work might not be the right word. Messing around. Tinkering. Playing with our toys. Those are closer...... 4

My father always said if you enjoy doing it it is not work. He would spend hours in the field "playing" on the Christmas tree farm. It was his WH that I inherited.

I guess we all need a little therapy and mine just happens to be playing with horses.
