Pullstart 62,783 #1 Posted February 10, 2020 I am replacing the points on Stormy today. I left some snow in the drive to hopefully plow a bit. I use these points from the local Parts Plus in all my Kohlers that need service work, but for some reason this set doesn’t align well. See the set screw hole, it isn’t in line with the slot. Setting my gap at .020”, it grows to about .025” when I tighten the screw!
Pullstart 62,783 #2 Posted February 10, 2020 I was able to open the slot with a high speed pencil grinder and set my gap. I am loosing spark as it rolls over. The parts store had a coil, condenser and new plug wire for me, we’ll throw a couple parts at Stormy and see if it’ll fire up to play a bit in the snow. This had a star type lock washer, but the slot was not letting me keep a .020 gap once the screw was tight.. the slot needed a little grinder relief to allow tightening at the proper spot. Good news though, it’s running great now! 1
