As part of your overhaul did you remove and  reuse or replace the governor gear?

If you replaced it, did you use Kohler or an aftermarket one?

Looks like perfect time to put a cam in there and make some power.

I also would have thought that you would bring engine to the shop to have it cleaned/measured.  Then buy the appropriate parts and they would machine to those parts.

This is exactly what I did. I measured the cylinder bore to make sure what piston to buy which in this case was a .010

over. I did the same with the rod However the rod ended up being effed up.

The Governor worked fine when I tore it down and as I had it apart I inspected the gear and a little weights and they seem to be OK.

Just got my Block back from the machine shop today along with the crank. The guy that did this for me is well known in hot Rod Magazine for his work on V-8 engines. When I got there today to pick it up he was working on a racing engine which was a 408 chevy engine. I had my 321 bored .010 over and the crank

ground and polished to .010 under. He also ground the valve seats as well. He only charged me 80 bucks cash no ticket. The guy is 80 years old and still going!!

You got it wrong! Take the Chevy 408 and bolt it in your wheelhorse!  😁💪

I got home today and put some more parts together. Got the piston in along with the

new rod. All machine work looked great

and all specs as well.  Hope to fire

it up this weekend!

Irv woke up today with a bad hiccup!
got this 14 horse back up and running after the gasoline in the crank case due to these wonderful Chinese POS things

they call a fuel pump!  It ran like a top the first time until I found out about the fuel pump. This time there's a rod knocking and there's pretty little shiny things in the oil! Hopefully it's an easy fix with another rod and might have to grind the crank.
cause that's what it sounds like!

Get an electric fuel pump and put this problem out to pasture.

Did you put the roc cap on with the oil kole toward the cam shaft?

Yes l went back over this three times as

:text-yeahthat:                 Gas will dilute oil quite a bit.  Hope the crank wasn't hurt.    When will the autopsy be conducted?

Not sure , but on the other hand curiosity is going to kill me , human nature! I have another 12 horse at the machine shop now. I am from now on going with an

electric fuel pump. Im having visions

of a blue colored crank pin. I can only hope not!🤞🤞

Update on the k321. Got it back

apart and it looks like rod suffered

damage and the crank pin looks ok.

I'll have to mic it and see. I pushed it

aside for now and l got this k301 to

put in its place. Had it bored .010 over

to clean it up. I just got it running but

this time with an electric fuel pump
