moe1965 737 #1 Posted February 1, 2020 (edited) I ran across this for sale I'm thinking it's a 1964 from the picture painted the wrong color for sure. My question is the belt shroud is wider then then the one I own. Is there 2 belts under this shroud if so why..... it's a kohler engine with a starter generator .....thanks in advance Edited February 1, 2020 by moe1965 More info
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,032 #2 Posted February 1, 2020 1961 model 701 was the only model to use the double belts on the starter/generator. Garry 3
WHX?? 48,763 #3 Posted February 2, 2020 Pic not that great Moe but I think what you saw there is a 701 that went horribly wrong. Foot rests, front end, motor and possibly hood suggest a 701 and a misguided JD wannabe. Normally I would ask for more pics but not the case for this girl...unless you score it and and turn it back from the dark side! 1
WHNJ701 4,165 #4 Posted February 2, 2020 who cares what color it is, that belt guard is worth the price of gold to some people looking for one

Definitely a starter/gen belt guard for a 1961 model 701. Please, go grab it and save it from that awful paint job. 1

12 hp Kohler 1,014 #15 Posted February 2, 2020 That’s a great deal for $150. Looks like a real nice tractor other than the paint.
