ole-red 0 #1 Posted February 1, 2020 (edited) I've got a 2003 522xi and I want to lighten the pressure needed to move the pedal forward or reverse position. I know how to adjust the travel of the pedal but is the a way to reduce the pressure needed to move forward or reverse? I just had knee surgery and its very uncomfortable to apply the leg pressure needed. I've looked thru the service manual and didn't see any mention of this type of adjustment. This the biggest reason I let the xi series tractor I had go and prefer my classic series 520H hand column shift. And sorry I do not know any ways to lessen the tension on the foot pedal. lynnmor 7,354 #3 Posted February 2, 2020 I don't know the particulars about the travel adjustment, maybe if you can maximize the travel the pressure would lessen. I have 520H tractors with the column shift, now I just need to figure out how to mount the stallions since I had one knee installed six days ago and the other one is slated for installation in a month. WVHillbilly520H 10,374 #5 Posted February 3, 2020 @shallowwatersailor, John can you add some insight on this situation as well... Since I recall you having a broken ankle and somewhat struggling with the motion pedals.

I had three 5xi that I loved. But after I broke my right ankle, I didn't have the range of motion and the stamina to drive them any length of time. I also was downsizing my property with a move so that was one of the factors in selling them. I am not aware of any adjustment that can be made. Maybe you can rig up a hand arrangement with rods. Not sure if you can but I did try to lessen the need to change direction when using them. Also I would rest my heel on the floorboard and push the right side of the rocker pedal instead of heel-and-toeing it.. Hopefully your knee heels quickly.
