Mike'sHorseBarn 2,984 #1 Posted January 31, 2020 I'm looking for a saddle mount voltage regulator for my 857. I have gotten them before from the Brillman company, but they don't seem to have a 4 terminal one anymore with the A post on the bottom. An internet search isn't showing me what I need. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Mike'sHorseBarn 2,984 #2 Posted January 31, 2020 Nevermind, I found it......I completely overlooked it
pfrederi 17,663 #3 Posted January 31, 2020 For reference if you aren't concerned with originality you do not need a 4 terminal saddle a 3 terminal saddle mount will work just as well.

pfrederi 17,663 #6 Posted January 31, 2020 You give up the L terminal (Load/lights) Since your only load is the cigar lighter you run that directly off the battery or piggyback on the green wire from battery to Bat terminal on the regulator
WHX?? 48,763 #7 Posted January 31, 2020 What's nice they ship for eight clams no matter how much you order and they have LOTS of Kohler parts both OEM and aftermarket and even Toro/WH stuff.
adsm08 2,022 #8 Posted February 23, 2020 What's the quality like on those regulators? Mine just gave up after only a few months in service, and it never really seemed to work right anyway.

Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't.

So is there a source for a more reliable one, even if I have to pay a bit more? It looks like I will be mowing two yards again this summer, and the charging system on my 855 seems to be the only thing that isn't tip-top and reliable. The Brillman company has several quality levels on their voltage regulators. The most expensive ones are Made in the USA, but they're something like $70. The link to their site is below. https://brillman.com/ 1
