GoodMorning, everyone.

I dont kno how far ill go, or get, but im looking for info, help, instruction...on how to pull my rear hubs on my Bronco14, find the problem, and fix/repair/replace them. Whatever is needed.

They both have terrible amount of play that even i know is not right. I just really dont know ehere to start, what im looking at or for, or how to go about things. I also think they were 'fixed' once before, as those bolts in the housing...im pretty sure arent factory.

Ive posted these pics b4, but rightnow, they are all i have.

Any input or instruction would b appreciated.

Remove the two set screws (or however many the hubs have) and pull them off. Since they're already loose, you shouldn't need a puller.

That is a real hack job. Looks like they may have drilled though the axle and hub and put in a bolt..looks like a nut on it in second picture.  Jonah types faster.  Remove all bolts hub will probably pull right off. If it doesn't start with a 2 or 3 jaw puller.  If that doesn't move it then we will lok at better ideas.  If you break the hub with jaw puller I doubt it is any great loss.  If they are that hacked up the will probably have to be replaced any way

If they have excessive play the keyway in the axle or in the hub is probable wallowed out. Once you have them off, then we can help you determine what needs repair/replacement.  Also if the hubs don't come off easy don't hammer on the back of the hub flange.  The flanges break easy, and you could also shear the axle snap ring inside the tranny.  You also should not use a typical 3 jaw bearing puller to just grab the flange.   If you use a puller you need a bearing splitter or similar behind the whole flange for the puller to grab.

Surely that can't be any worse than the awful, light duty setup that it had from the factory! Probably how they should've been originally.

Maybe so but I guess it didn't work here if they are that loose:P

This is true!

If they didn't use a bolt that fit tightly in the hole, that would explain why it didn't work well.

My Raider 12 had a trough bolt installed before I took ownership. It did not fair well. I ended up repairing the axle and setting every thing up for a full length key.

I appreciate all the input!

But, the way you as re all talking, this will be a job for spring...also dont have a 3 jaw bearing puller, or a bearing splitter...

Bummer.

But, from what i am reading, y'all are saying new hubs will be in order, most likely?

I ask because i was thinking bout calling AZ Tractors soon, for an electric clutch, anyways.

Thanks for all your ideas and thoughts.

If the hub is loose feeling I doubt you will need a puller once you get the bolts out.  but yes new hubs will probably be in order.. if not new axles ...sorry
