tractornut86 620 #83 Posted February 4, 2020 To tell the model of this you gotta take look st the engine mounts. The S18 had a 8hp Kohler where the one engine bolt sat over top the frame rail and the S19 had a 8hp Briggs that if your engine bolted directly down then it was original S19. If you are interested in fenders I have nos S23/S24 fenders that is same as the smaller fenders except just larger and you would have to make center peice bracket. I also have original engine pulley, hood hinges and maybe a belt guard if want to put it to original.

A far as the parts go, I will be thinking it over for sure. Thanks @tractornut86
Oldskool 6,644 #85 Posted February 9, 2020 Started the tear down yesterday. It's in the minus digits this morning so garage work is low starting today. Hope to have the engine done today.

Oldskool 6,644 #94 Posted February 9, 2020 There is a bump stop under the tie rod in the area of the green circle. There isn't in the red circle. Is there supposed to be? Turn one direction it hits the stop. Turn the other and the steering seems to cam over itself, but not to the point it locks itself in place.

I've seen discussions that showed it doesn't much matter on an air cooled engine unless maybe it's running an implement or machinery. The Briggs on Trina's 867 is painted. Seems fine. She uses it to pull a wood trailer around but no "working" it.

Dang it
