D_Mac 8,607 #56 Posted May 16, 2020 Hey @PeacemakerJack those two bring back memories .... I had a 69 chevelle and a 71 Elcamino many years ago. I dont have any hot rods of my own but here are some photos of my cousins 57 that he has been restoring all by himself for a few years now. He has done all the mechanics and paint and body work. Its his second one. Behind it in one photo is his 65 Chevy II . The other one is my buddys he just purchased about 10 days ago. He already wants to sell it as he found out there isnt a lot of room behind the wheel. Thats what you get when you buy before you try. Nice car though. 1

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #60 Posted June 1, 2020 That is a super sharp ‘68 bird for sure! Looks tough and hints at “don’t mess with me!” Had an epic/surreal moment over the Memorial Day weekend. @Coulter Caleb Is turning 16 in June and has his temp license. I made the decision to let him drive the Goat. I brought him home from the hospital following his birth all those years ago...now he is able to drive it He seemed to enjoy the experience...I’ll let him chime in and talk about it from his point of view. For me it was really neat to see my son drive the car that he has been around his whole life! 1 2

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #62 Posted June 12, 2020 A couple more that I have seen as we have been driving around... someone obviously likes T-birds! for my bow tie buddy @WVHillbilly520H nice second gen Camaro! I took the family out for ice cream in the old Goat last weekend and decided to do something that I have never done. I drove over to the neighborhood in which I was raised. It is a small unincorporated town called Borth. Basically it is a bunch of houses, some farms, a church, and a tavern—wait...that is about 90% of the towns in Wisconsin!!! Anyway, all of my early years on the old iron horse 875 were at this location... While cutting, I was dreaming of someday owning a GTO and marrying a beautiful girl. Well we are 20 years into that marriage and 22years into the ownership of a Goat...we also have 4 amazing kids. So, the background of this picture (right over Caleb’s right shoulder) shows a bunch of big trees and the house in which I grew up. I always dreamed of buying the vacant brick building three lots down and having my own auto restoration shop. I never thought of getting a picture by it until last weekend... When I told the kids how serious I was about it, they didn’t believe me and so I dug through my old school memorabilia until I found my 7th grade notebook and showed them this sketch... They started to chuckle but also thought it was cool! God has given me a different path in residential construction and ministering to people (as a pastor/missionary) but I will always have a special spot in my heart for mechanical things. That is one of the reasons I do enjoy wrenching on GT’s, they scratch that mechanical itch!!! It was really fun to return to my roots for a few minutes and reminisce with my wife and kids. I even shared a couple of stories that they had never heard before! 1

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #65 Posted June 12, 2020 Wondered who would pick up on that mating of new and old first... while we are on F-body’s... Saw this beauty today! I like the pro touring aftermarket duplicates of the old honeycomb rims. These of course allow for a narrower sidewalk on the tires and yet keep a somewhat stock appearance...

Coulter Caleb 532 #67 Posted June 14, 2020 So driving around after my Dad and family ministered at a church in Baraboo ...We drove up to an intersection and this car pulled up... Hey @AMC RULES what year is this??? 3
AMC RULES 37,130 #68 Posted June 14, 2020 (edited) '69 Go Pak AMX Caleb, left the factory with either a 343, or 390 V8. AMX's were the 2nd factory two seater ever produced in America. Production ran only three years, '68, '69, and '70. Good eye bud! Now, my question for you is... what was the first factory two seater made in America, and year of it's manufacture? Coulter Caleb 532 #69 Posted June 15, 2020 Thanks for the info @AMC RULES, my guess on the 2 seater is the 1953 Corvette!

Gonna have to correct you, Eric F bodys didn't get the wrap around rear window until '75. The blue 'bird pictured is a '74 Trans-AM Super Duty 455. '73 wouldn't be all that similar, as it would've still had the endura nose, not the 5 MPH bumper front end that started in '74
