Pullstart 62,834 #251 Posted December 14, 2021 Not sure if this should be a hot rod, or vintage truck? What did it start out as? 1
Achto 27,565 #252 Posted December 14, 2021 (edited) Looks like it may have been a Checker cab? At least the front & rear ends were. Edited December 14, 2021 by Achto

And you found a picture of another one? Wonder if that was done by a conversion or limo company?
Pullstart 62,834 #256 Posted December 14, 2021 (edited) It looks like it’s called the Aerobus. This blue one is about 15 minutes from my house. We drove by it around dusk a few nights ago and I claimed it to be an 8 door Suburban. I’m just glad it really is an 8 door! Handy Don 12,211 #258 Posted December 14, 2021 (edited) Around here these were the common "airport limosine/shuttle" vehicles until the Ford E-series vans took over. Edited December 14, 2021 by Handy Don

Sounds like a hunk of junk. I’ll take two! We’ll make the bus a double decker checker hauler!
19richie66 17,500 #260 Posted December 14, 2021 Well it ain’t no muscle car but it is a little hot rod. I sold my chevy pickup to my son in law last month as I needed something lighter on the wallet gaswise. I picked up this HHR SS and so far I love it. It’s like driving a go cart. Pretty quick little booger for what it is. I call it “the coffin” because if I ever get into a wreck, I’ll probably have to be buried in it. 5
Pullstart 62,834 #261 Posted December 20, 2021 I never realized there was an off road stang. Just add paddles.

8ntruck 6,998 #265 Posted December 21, 2021 @19richie66 is that turbo charged? I had a supercharged Cobalt SS for a while. Neat, quick car. Had positraction, which made steering wheel input in the snow more of a suggestion instead of a positive control input.

Mine is automatic so not as exciting as a stick shift but still quick. I love it. Great gas mileage and like driving a go cart on the road.

C-85 681 #270 Posted March 19, 2022 Here's my hot rod's, one has a top speed of about 56 mph and the other is scary at much above 55 mph! These are both Jeeps, so we call them Little Jeep and Big Jeep! '71 M35A2 '79 Jeep CJ-5 The two of them at a car show C-85 5 1
c-series don 8,687 #271 Posted March 20, 2022 I have that exact model little Jeep in a Tonka truck from when I was a kid. Same color and all. It’s in my attic, but right now I’m too lazy to go take a picture of it because sitting next to my wood stove has sucked all the energy out of me!
8ntruck 6,998 #272 Posted March 20, 2022 (edited) Yup. We've had a CJ5 and a couple of CJ7's. The CJ5 takes a light touch on the steering wheel at speed - got to wait until it decides which way it wants to go after hitting a bump before applying steering correction. The original Jeep was designed to top out around 45mph.
