Man, I'm getting old then! In Texas, 25 is considered antique. After that, no emissions testing, and $7 inspections.

A vehicle must be 25yrs old in Wisconsin to qualify for an Antique Plate - one time purchase and the vehicle can only be driven on special occasions (parade, display, testing, maintenance) No emissions or inspections on vehicles in WI unless you live in the counties of Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Washington or Waukesha.
Achto 27,601 #79 Posted June 17, 2020 I spotted this beauty in a parking lot near me, not hot rodded but a nice clean survivor. Picture did not turn out the best.
Lane Ranger 10,968 #80 Posted June 17, 2020 (edited) Dad had one just like this 1947 Pontiac's with the six and three speed on the column! Steel grey color. We took this is 1961 from Indiana to Portland, Oregon and back over two weeks with a trailer loaded with all out camping gear. In Jackson Hole, Wyoming going up the mountain hairpin curves above Wilson they stick shift handle on the column came out in dad's hand as the pin had broken in the shifter. We had passed a truck pulling a big D dozer on a flat bed trailer inching its way of the mountain on the lower part of the climb. We turned into a fire break turnoff at the top of a hairpin curve. Dad decided that the 2 inch piece still sticking out of the column would not be enough to shift gears. So in the trunk he pulled out a screw driver that he fixed in tight between the pin holes to shift the transmission. We made it all the way to Portland, Oregon with no trouble and he had the shifter reinstalled in Portland with a new pin. That 1947 Pontiac was built like a TANK! PeacemakerJack 10,738 #81 Posted June 17, 2020 that is awesome Lane! Thank you for sharing that epic story and those tremendous vintage pics. It never ceases to amaze me, how in those days most people we resourceful enough to come up with a way to repair something either permanently or until it could be properly fixed. As I’ve stated elsewhere on the forum, we were a Pontiac family going back to grandpas 1937 Pontiac. His first new car was a 1953 Pontiac. I’ll have to post a couple unconverted slides of that car. If I would’ve had the money a couple of years ago, I would’ve bought this 40’s Pontiac that was for sale locally. It was a rat rod but still super cool... It had a Chevy 350 with a 700R4 tranny and some tasteful mods but it was mostly stock and super cool! I liked everything about it Even the dent in the trunk lid! 1 1 1

Achto 27,601 #83 Posted July 6, 2020 Spied this old Biscayne in a parking lot near me. In my opinion GM fell a little short on designing the front end of these cars. The back end on the other hand is a work of art. 1 1

Pullstart 62,906 #85 Posted July 8, 2020 I wish I would have taken a better picture of this car, and the garage in which it resides! It was at cousin Tim’s who helped grab the truck for me in DFW. He has many many many trophies and championships in his garage. This car, he owned 20 some years ago and sold when he found out he was going to be a father. He just recently bought it back, still with no engine and transmission after 23(?) years of it being gone. They are Mopar to the bone! 3
PeacemakerJack 10,738 #86 Posted July 8, 2020 Those Darts are wicked cars. I have a full satirical article in a Mopar Action magazine from the late 1980’s written about two neighbors both wanting a new dart. One neighbor goes down to the dealership and purchases a fully optioned 6cyl convertible. The other neighbor goes to the dealership and orders a “race car”. They are both 1968 Darts. The convertible is painted and comes with all the amenities that you would expect a ‘68 auto to have. The race car has to be picked up at a special lot in Detroit after waiting for a long period of time for it to be built. It comes with radio delete, sound deadner delete, little seats out of the dodge A-100 van, no rear seat, heater delete, no power anything. As a matter of fact, it isn’t even painted but comes in a two tone primer. The rear is grey and the fiberglass front is a charcoal black. When the race car finally makes it to the neighborhood, the two neighbors compare their cars and the convertible owner is convinced that his counterpart got the shaft! He couldn’t believe that he even had to help him lift the hood off and set it on the roof of the car because the hood didn’t have hinges, but then he saw what lurked beneath, that elephant motor—a 426 Hemi! It was a really well written and fun article to read especially because the ‘68 was a wicked little machine with the correct options ordered. Thanks for sharing a pic and story of that car Kevin!

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #92 Posted August 2, 2020 Here’s a few from an impromptu show we went to a few weeks ago at a grocery parking lot... old “Christine”. These Fury’s make me hum “Bad to the Bone” every time I see one—especially a red one! Zach couldn’t get over the “meats” on this pro stock Studie! It was so much fun to see these awesome rides and hear them come and go!!! 1 6

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #97 Posted August 18, 2020 Dad’s Birthday was yesterday and so this last weekend we took him out for supper and did a little crusin’ in the old hot rods. We ended up going for dessert at Leon’s a drive-in that has survived for over 70 years in Oshkosh. My mom worked there as a car hop in her late teens. The old cars drew quite a crowd it in front of the vintage drive-in with the delicious frozen custard😋 3 3
Tooomuch7 52 #98 Posted August 21, 2020 Here are my two cars, the 57 I’ve had since I was 18,I’m now old enough to retire. Lol The 69 was purchased in 93 and finally redone in 2017. It never bothered me to tear cars apart. but small engines always seemed scary to me.But I have learned a lot since finding this site. 1 5
