A few years back, when it was just me and my old cowdog, we lived quite comfortably in a truck camper that I had in an old pickup bed trailer. It was very comfortable for just the two of us, but I'm sure it would be tight even for two people, as the truck camper I have now is even tight for just Krystal and I on a weekend stay. Our 27 foot motorhome is even tight quarters for us and the two kids, we toughed it out for a week before deciding to go with a double motel room on a weekly basis until we decide where we are going to permanently settle and can get us a house.

Here is the truck camper we camp in now...if we ever make it to the big show this is the setup we will be bringing

That way you wouldn't even have to go outside to go to the shop.    We've built some really nice living quarters in pole barns.  There are some extra steps and little tricks to make it right but it's worth the effort 

 

 

This would be my plan too.

 

Should I ever find myself on my own again I will likely look for a larger building, maybe a former warehouse, make a nice shop out of it, and build/finish a small apartment in part of the upper portion.
