Front weight update

Recommended Posts

A while back I posted a photo of some front weight that I added to my 312-8.  After buying my welder welded them to an extra mule drive that I removed the pulleys from. Simple removal and the 76 pounds stops the wheelie action.

What’s hanging off the back to wheelie that machine?  Any excuse to weld and play with tractors is a good excuse!

Nothing off the back.  Letting out the clutch out too fast causes the front end to jump.  I am gentle on the clutch but occasionally the foot comes up too quickly causing the the tractor to jump, resulting in a wrenched back on my part.  Now the clutch could be popped in third and the front end barely rises.

With the mule drive I can drop the weight off quickly to attached the plow.  Currently I do not cut the grass with it.  I have another mule drive for the mower deck.

I can sympathize with you on that.

I had a 314-8 that  would lift the front end of the ground if I let off the clutch to fast in 1st gear.

I didn't like that at all. That's why I really like the hydro.
