Mows4three 826 #1 Posted January 14, 2020 Last week my buddy bought some large steel forms we will use in our blacksmith shops. In the large box of things he bought, was a strange wedge shaped object. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. I need help figuring out what it is. It’s driving us both nuts trying to figure out what it is. Let me describe it and I’ll attach photos. It is made of cast steel. It’s roughly 7/8” thick at the back. It tapers to a dull or blunt point opposite thick end. It has a cast-in depression to the back of each side but the “hole” is not through punched or drilled. See the photos for more detail. It looks like a steel bucking wedge for keeping the saw kerf open when using a cross cut saw, but this all had drilled or punched holes. It also looks like it could be a rigging wedge, except the tip of the wedge is blunt. Come on fellas. I need some opinions. What say you? Dave

You are already nuts. You do not to be driven there. Really what I mean by that is. I'm curious to see what the answer is and I just wanted to post something so I can follow the thread. 1

SPINJIM 1,981 #5 Posted January 14, 2020 Google search shows it to be a "Dirt Tooth" part #211 made by Jiffy Dallas, probably for some kind of excavator. 3
