857 info

Hello I've got a line on an 857 that looks in great original shape with a good deck on it.

Asking $650 which seems a little high but older tractors in good shape are rare in my neck of the woods and I am wanting something pretty to add to the collection.

What do you think? Comes with a dozer blade as well.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

If it runs as good as it looks, go get it.

Those short frame square hood 8hp tractors are my favorite! If the motor runs and sounds good and no smoke, I'd add it to the collection with a smile on my face!

Nice looking ride!  I’d try to get it for $500, but in all reality I’m sure I’ve got more into my light restorations than $650 so if it doesn’t need much work, it’s probably worth it!

I have a modified 867 that is - IMHO - the best looking tractor WH ever made. As they say; I was at the right place, at the right time and stole mine for $20. back in 1994.  With that being said, I would try to get the owner down to $500.

Hey Zeke, Looks like a nice tractor. I'm over here in Raleigh and I can tell you, short frames are tough to find down here in NC. I agree with the others. If you can get him down to $500 then its a good deal. But if not, No big deal. It would cost $150 in gas just to get to the big show where there are there are normally a few good short frames for sale.

:text-imwithstupid: I paid 450 for mine delivered with the same deck and a mid mount blade but had to stick 100 + into it with some tranny bearings and what not. .. If thats an all orginal AND unmolested I would be all over it but yes try and dickering abit. Pardon my addiction to '67's...

Don't listen to him Zeke ...his restos consist of putting a rose bud on the cutting torch with some coat hanger for filler wire! :laughing-rolling:

You better hurry Zeke.    Sounds like those North Carolina hounds are about ready to open up on that horses trail.   See the source image

I saw that one on marketplace.  Looks pretty darn clean.  Paint looks original all over.  Seems very well maintained.  Believe I’d get going if I were you!

I think that one has been on there for quite some time. Don’t let the guy know you are too excited, you might get a better deal.

😁👍

So my typical phone conversation such as “I’d like to come pick up your tractor” is too promising?

Pardon my addiction to '67's... In my book nothing to pardon. Had many. 607 all the way to 1257 at one time.

I would say that introduction would certainly reduce your ability to negotiate 😂

Hey @zeke37, whereabouts in chapel hill are you located? There is another forum member close by over there who lives on the south west side near university lakes.
