pfrederi 17,876 #1 Posted January 10, 2020 I am beginning to think the engineer who designed the hydro pump installation in D series got his start on the GT-14. Time to pull the hydro off the GT-14. Every thing was OK (not a lot of room to access the two upper bolts holding the tranny to tractor frame. Got them loose and slowly backed them out... except the upper right bolt head hit the side plate of the tractor after it was only out about 1/2". Had to get all the other bolts out and replace each with an aligning pin. Then roll the tranny back a half inch loosen the top right bolt, then roll tranny back 2 times more loosening the upper right bolt each time. Glad the transmission jack allows easy movement of the tranny. It is now Cocktail hour!!!!!!! 1 1

Ed Kennell 38,659 #4 Posted January 10, 2020 Would studs and nuts work better?
JoeM 7,874 #5 Posted January 10, 2020 Wise old engineer say; "Design equipment to stay together, not come apart", I think he was Confucius's brother in-law or something! Don't think that stud thing will work out Ed, I'm busy right now! 1
953 nut 55,773 #6 Posted January 11, 2020 I made up a 1/4" drive 9/16" socket just for that bolt. Even with that it was a PITA.
