Herder 2,354 #1 Posted January 7, 2020 (edited) It seems that the days of being self sufficient and making things your self have disappeared. Or maybe I am on the again. Outside of Amazon I cant find build you own Spark Plug Wire Kits and these aren't kits it's piecemeal add this and that to the cart and $75 bucks latter you don't have what you need. Does anyone know a source/vender to purchase from? I would like to build my own wires for small engines, I always have a shortage of them. Thanks. Achto 27,824 #3 Posted January 7, 2020 I usually by a plug wire plug kit for a 6 cyl tractor to make mine. Kit allows you to make enough for 7 single cyl engines at a reasonable price. https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/calco-6-cylinder-wire-set/0000000026269?Ntt=tractor parts 3

Tough to beat that for pricing and convenience...

You supposed to break in the new wire with your tongue on plug whilst cranking the engine. Do I have to tell you everything? 7

The former owner who is now in his 80s owned three stores in the surrounding area and has sold off because his son has no interest. Stinks!!
oldredrider 2,549 #13 Posted January 8, 2020 My local NAPA obviously can't stock everything. But, they are great at getting stuff quickly. If I go in early morning, they usually can have it the same day.

I'm hoping they'll be around for old farm tractors for awhile. If not it's all good. I have the numbers for the pieces from Napa.... And a good crimper. Cvans 1,009 #16 Posted March 16, 2020 Bought a roll of that NAPA metallic core wire and it seems I'm using it all the time for small engines and outboards. If the the plug wires on the DeSoto don't ohm out good it's going to get a set made from it.
