Cvans 1,009 #26 Posted January 9, 2020 Yes painting. I'll take another look tomorrow. Have not had the steering apart before so didn't give any thought. Living proof that I'll never be too old to make mistakes. 2

WHX?? 48,763 #28 Posted January 9, 2020 I guess my only question Cvans is what is your end use for this tractor? Show, plow dirt or snow, mowing, just because you can? I do like the track you are on tho.
Cvans 1,009 #29 Posted January 9, 2020 For pulling yard and garden implements. Drag, roller, sprayer, or anything else that rolls like the excavator. Whoooops I'm not suppose to do that.

Cvans 1,009 #31 Posted February 12, 2020 (edited) Finally got back to this project today. We have a blizzard scheduled for tomorrow so getting cleaned up today was mandatory. Maybe I'll get to spend the day in the shop and finish cleaning things up for paint. Took 2 cans of degreaser along to the car wash and a part of a can of oven cleaner. The oven cleaner does a much better job. I'll be using dollar store oven cleaner from now on. Rustoleum cherry red is the color right? JCM 9,130 #33 Posted February 12, 2020 @Cvans Since the Valspar IH red has gone away it seems most are using Rustoleum Regal Red and some like the Sunrise Red, just my observations. Whatever you choose good luck with your project.

I've tried a couple different ones and they were VASTLY different so I was curious what you used.

Cvans 1,009 #38 Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) Our blizzard was a fizzle so I went to town this afternoon and picked up four cans of Regal Red. Hope that's enough as it was all they had. I can get more if necessary. Went to dollar tree and purchased four more cans of oven cleaner. It's a different brand than last time so hopefully it will work like the old stuff. Pullstart 62,783 #39 Posted February 13, 2020 Talk about a big storm! We were in for 4” or so, there’s a good solid 3/4” if I try hard to find it! Enjoy this paint weather! 1

Cvans 1,009 #41 Posted February 25, 2020 Got out to the shop today and did some sanding and painting. The 2X Rustoleum went on nicely and dries fast. Nice not to have a layer of sticky paint all over everything in the shop. Gotta love those paint respirators. Couldn't smell a thing until I took it off and then it was very strong. Had to get out of there.

Cvans 1,009 #49 Posted March 4, 2020 Well I did something really stupid. I reassembled the C160 to the point that I would like to put the wheels and tires back on. Going to be nice to roll it around. Only ONE BIG problem. I can't find them. I have looked everywhere. Well almost. All the rest of the parts are setting right where I moved them too but I can't find the wheels and tires. It was getting dark so I'm really hoping to do better in the daylight tomorrow. Have to tell you I'm a little worried about myself right now. 1
