I can drill spot welds and replace the nose! We just gained 4” more leg room! Use the shorter hood with all the built in character. Is this going to be a trailer queen?

No trailer queen... but it’ll get to the shows. Time permitting, it’ll get stripped and painted up pretty before we load it with coop poop!
Andy N. 2,154 #229 Posted January 29, 2020 This was just posted a few days ago on FB Marketplace. Wrong color and all, but appropriate to the thread. It's in Lockport, IL if anyone is interested. 3

I doubt that any "Purest" would even notice it on this otherwise unaltered .

Here is some progression with my fancy jig work to see how it moved forward. 2
SylvanLakeWH 25,560 #232 Posted January 30, 2020 The color of the bucket jig distracts from the overall scheme, but I personally like the lines of the hood relative to the dump bed... Please paint the bucket Regal Red and resubmit photos for a final grade by the RS brain trust... Lookin’ great!

I love the way Frank turned out with the patina from years of work and clear over... but this is getting the paint.

Pullstart 62,884 #235 Posted January 30, 2020 I received my bolts and studs in the mail. I figured because I’ll have more spacers, I can still run a couple bolts on each hub and these countersunk flat head socket bolts can help to center the adapters on the hub. I have room for a lot of spacers if needed, running these 3” studs. The first spacers will have clearance holes to clear the head of a normal bolt.

I am doing a 2 seater, just using the WH pan and seat for visual mock-up. It’ll all change during the build..

Pullstart 62,884 #240 Posted January 31, 2020 I pulled down my first WH frame I ever had, the 502 bones. I don’t foresee putting Putt Putt back to stock, so this should be all I need to cut and weld the dump truck frame.
Pullstart 62,884 #241 Posted January 31, 2020 I stripped the roller parts down and took some measurements. Surprisingly I won’t need much kick up in the chassis. The center of the front axle pivot pin is about the same height as the top of the frame at the trans mount!
953 nut 55,230 #242 Posted February 1, 2020 How tight a turn can you get with the frame at the centerline of those tall tires?

Pullstart 62,884 #244 Posted February 1, 2020 Here you go Richard. I imagine if I move the steering arms and remove the 3/4” pegs, I can have as much scrub as I’d like.

Pullstart 62,884 #247 Posted February 1, 2020 With the front half of the chassis trimmed up, a 2” spacer clamped between the two assures me that things will come together quite well. When I weld the two halves together, I’ll push the kickup as far forward as possible to maintain the most leg room.
