PeacemakerJack 10,738 #79 Posted June 3, 2021 That car turned out great! I can’t wait to see the video of you driving it...as the proverb states, “the desire accomplished is sweet to the soul”. Kudos to all that were involved with the build, their work ethic and attention to detail is clearly shown. I’m also impressed with your tenacity to keep at it until it was finished and streetable. Well done. 1

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #82 Posted June 3, 2021 We took part in the Memorial Day car show and I took this picture of my third born Judge next to “the Judge”. Thought you’d appreciate this one @Howie I really like your color scheme on your car—very cool😎 3
Howie 886 #83 Posted June 4, 2021 @PeacemakerJack, Back when I started on this I seriously considered changing the color of it. Then when at the National shows started to see some in the basecoat-clearcoat and changed my mind. The old paints sure did not shine like these do. And really one does not see very many of them any more. I think there were only about 1497 of them. Not that all of that matters a whole lot to me. 1

I like the color - it's different and 'pleasing' ... for lack of a better term had a 442 in a similar color ... back in the day
Pullstart 62,834 #86 Posted June 4, 2021 I was behind, all the way back to the body shop days! Your car looks amazing Howie! Exterior is done, interior is done, you have brakes, what else until you turn the key?
Howie 886 #87 Posted June 10, 2021 Well, a setback of sorts. Had it out last Wednesday for a drive to start getting some miles on it, and the transmission decided it did not want to cooperate. So it is now an expensive paperweight until tranny is rebuilt again.

TH400 - correct ? won't move ? won't shift ? maybe vacuum related ? vacuum leak or vacuum modulator (or whatever it is called) .. ? ...
Howie 886 #89 Posted June 11, 2021 It is aTH 400, and I could only wish it is the vacumn modulator! Not really slipping, kind of like it is jerking in and out of gear. Had parts of another one here so it has been delivered to the shop. This one shifted harder than i wanted it to anyway. The person who owned the shop that did it before has passed away so that option went away.

tom2p 2,394 #91 Posted June 11, 2021 (edited) found another car in a similar color - big block El Camino a friend had he did a complete frame off resto on this one - was a CA car so it was extremely clean Edited June 11, 2021 by tom2p
Howie 886 #92 Posted June 11, 2021 It has a new modulator on it, suppose it could be bad. I suspect it is the sprag. Will drain oil soon and see if there is anything in the pan.
Howie 886 #93 Posted July 22, 2021 Will update this tonight. Got the rebuilt transmission back last Friday afternoon. We put it back in the car Tuesday. Had to wait until neew speedometer gear arrived to buttton it up. Was using the one out of the transmission I removed and it was twisted on the shaft. Took it out for a drive this evening just to get some miles on everything. Seems to be good except for these people making all kind of motions when I go by! 1 1 2
