Haulin Help / Roadtrip / Crash and Burn...

Who do you have for insurance? If you have collision and uninsured motorists, I believe I'd be suing them and changing companies. You've paid well over $6000 in premiums; the least they could do is honor their word. It's not like the accident was your fault.

I say take the payout money, buy the truck back for next to nothing, put a $300 tailgate and bumper on it, pocket the rest of the money, and jump ship. If it's deemed not your fault, another insurer is unlikely to fault you for it.

I have State Farm. I've yet to have an accident (or even a ticket, knock on wood) and their rates are very good - I pay $54 a month for full coverage on my Porsche - for a 22 y/o. I recommend them.

We've been with State Farm for the past 30 years and they have been good to us as well. I just had a $14,000 roof due to hail damage needed replacing. It cost me $300 out-of-pocket.

Well... its all over... had 3 shops look at it (1 was shop Travelers wanted me to have look at)

Then they sent an adjuster... he looked at truck for an hour and a half.

Calls me, says dont argue and totals it. They are picking it up monday and giving me a check after my deductible for $8700...

Essentially double what I paid after taxes, reg, the truck itself etc...

The end... now for truck shopping

Are you able to buy it back for a percentage of your payout, or are you not interested in finding a box?  Maybe the frame’s toast too?

Hi, I could buy it back... but the title is being stamped salvage and registration cancelled. Would cost me roughly $3500 to fix and put through complete front to back salvage inspection plus airbag light is on. For once in my life I did what @Sparky would do and walked away instead of being foolish and trying to beat system and losing out.
