Tractorhead 9,064 #1 Posted January 1, 2020 I‘m on the Planing to visit the Big Show this year in June 2020. Because Kati changed her Job, it seems i must travelling allone. The timeline i‘m planing is from 19.of june to 30.of june, to have a few day‘s left. I still haven‘t a fixed planing until yet, but it becomes more fixing. I know, it sounds crazy, just for one event spent that money and travel arround the half World, but i like to do. This is my personal Birthdaygift i like to spent this year, to see you fellas once Face to face, without the anonymous of the Internet. Esta is allready confirmed, so it seems i will be prepared to do so. If you have any Advices, please feel free, to keep me informed about, any help and suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks for your support in advance, i‘m still nervous about what happens, and be curious for this event. Regards Steve 1
Pullstart 62,795 #2 Posted January 1, 2020 Happy New Year! Have you confirmed a flight and a vehicle? Where are you flying in to? Maybe we need a list list of things you might need, and what we can help with? For the show, I’ll hook you up with a tent and bedding if you plan to camp on the grounds. We’ll be there the whole show time... If you would like, I have a cooler too for storing food, drinks, whatever suits your fancy. Obviously tools for your shopping needs will be everywhere! 2
Tractorhead 9,064 #3 Posted January 1, 2020 At the moment i have no finalized my travel planing, I checked several flights, where Washington, NY and Chicago was the cheapest destinations. for a rental Car i still on the search here about prices, but the prices differ hardly if i try to book from here. As a possible reason i found several insurances they sometimes in, sometimes they‘re on top. But it was unclear for me, what is really required, and what was a non requirement. Some seems to me senceful, some i don‘t know about, maybe just moneypickers. How about the milage included and what insurances be sencefully?

You can get much closer than Washington and New York by plane, Chicago would leave you a LOT of driving to do. There are several airports closer to that part of Pennsylvania. Philadelphia is large and fairly close, but there are smaller airports closer; Harrisburg is one of my favorites, and Allentown might also be close enough. Baltimore (Maryland) might also work. I'm not much of a traveler, so I don't have a lot of advice for you, others here will certainly join in soon I'm sure. I assume you have a passport?
Stormin 9,981 #5 Posted January 1, 2020 (edited) I'm also interested in any advice as I'm hoping to visit the show sometime. Maybe next year as other things already planned for this year. There's a possibility of me getting over to WHX24's plough Daze. For that I'll fly Carlisle - Dublin - Chicago O'Hare. From there a certain gentleman in Elgin said he'd meet me. If he remembers. I’ll be checking my straps about that point in my travels anyways... just hop on the interstate and wait for this Yahoo to make a pit stop!

dells68 7,498 #9 Posted January 1, 2020 That’s about the best news I’ve heard @ACman!! I’ve missed seeing you the last couple of years! Maybe you and your family, @pullstart and family, and my family and I can get together to go eat or something. Kevin and I had a blast with our families going to Sweet Frog for ice cream after the Italian dinner last year. Just nice to spend time with friends! 2 1

The Pond’s legacy will live on not just through our tractors, but through the friendships we’ve made! Like Joette, @wheelhorseman, said there’s just so many folks that have become family that get to see each other for three short days each year! 1

adsm08 2,022 #23 Posted January 5, 2020 Too bad you booked into JFK. If you were coming in to Harrisburg I could make arrangements to have you picked up at the airport. There is a lot of stuff to do in the area of the show that time of year. Bigglerville is just outside of Gettysburg, so if you like history or war stuff there is a ton to do there.
