kitty kitty

One evening two years ago as I approached the shop door was greeted by a small kitten that looked barely old enough to have left its mother. The cat people in the Village think we're fair game and about once a year find a stray kitten roaming around the yard.

This particular cat being a tortoiseshell was a dead giveaway to her source of whom I have approached and gave notice this practice of dropping off cats has a stop.

Cats do not usually last more than six months on our isolated property before becoming part of the food chain and its heartbreaking when they go missing. This one has good survival instincts.

She's out the door at daybreak returning after sundown.

Pat and I both prefer dogs over cats but would never turn away an animal in need of a home.

This cat is an excellent hunter, no more gophers and the squirrel population has dwindled.

I'm not a huge fan of cats either, but it's almost a necessity to have one or two around when you have a barn and a bunch of old cars. Far better than having mice chew up wiring all the time!

We don't have one in town but fortunately there are a number of neighbors who do and they come around all the time.

We have two, we found both of them as kittens in a junkyard.  Chances of survival was not good. Today they are happy, healthy and they get along with our dogs. :handgestures-thumbupright:  Good hunters to, no mice or moles.

Yep, got a couple of em here. The yellow and white one my daughter scooped up off the streets last year in West Virginia (College) and brought back home to Connecticut. It weighed in at about 3 pounds. The other cat came from under a co-workers back deck where it was born (stray momma cat). There is 8 plus years difference in age but they are best buddies now.

On a lazy Saturday morning I just wanna sleep a little later that my usual 4:10am alarm and then relax on the couch with a coffee in my flannel jammies and my IPad by MYSELF! These two dont see it that way

I'm not really a cat person, but years ago when married to my first wife she insisted we get a cat. Got one from a cat refuge and I think it didn't realise whose cat it was supposed to be. My chair. My lap and my shoulder if I was working outside.

One day sitting on the sofa, cat on my lap, the ex decided to cuddle up to me. The cat was not having any of it. Stood up and gave the ex a bat in the face. Fortunately just paw and not claws. I guess that cat had better taste than me. :D
