Ol Red 6 #1 Posted December 22, 2019 Hey guys, I mounted a plow about a week ago that I had picked up for my 312-8. The only thing I’m the tying to figure out is how to attach the pin that locks the angle of the plow into place and releases when you pull the release lever. Right now i can pull the pin straight out of the hole but I can see there’s a spring inside and a hole within the pin (maybe for a cotter?). I’m assuming somehow the main pin has to be fastened to the spring to get tension so it will go in and out when’s the levee is used to lock And release the angle of the plow. Hoping you guys can direct me. If thats too confusing I can upload pictures. Thanks for the help guys..
wallfish 16,985 #2 Posted December 22, 2019 The spring must apply tension to the pin to keep it locked into the index hole. The lever pulls the pin back towards the tractor to release it. Sounds like the cotter pin is out which holds the index pin in place. You should not be able to pull that pin by hand
wallfish 16,985 #3 Posted December 22, 2019 It's actually a roll pin, not a cotter pin but I think a cotter pin will work. Looks like my spring is beat but it still works fine
